AYP Status Levels

AYP in Pennsylvania: The 41 Possible Targets


		Attendance: If a school does not have a senior graduating class, the attendance rate for the entire school must be 90%, or any improvement from the previous year if rate is below 90%. or Graduation: If a school has a High School graduating class, the graduation rate for this class must be 80% or show any improvement from the previous year if rate is below 80%.

Academic Performance and Test Participation for each group used to determine AYP and Safe Harbor:

Academic Performance *

Academic Performance is based on students enrolled in the school for a full academic year, who were in the tested grade(s) (3–5, 6–8,and 9–12). For each group listed (in left column) at least 45% of the students must achieve a level of Proficient or higher in the Reading assessment and at least 35% of the students must achieve a level of Proficient or higher in the Math assessment.

Test Participation *

At least 95% of the students enrolled in the school as of the last day of the assessment window (March 30, 2007) who are in the tested Grade(s) (3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11), and for each group listed (in left column) must participate in each assessment.
